Under the spell of the Strawberry Moon
Veronika Bromová
26.06. – 30.08.25
In 2025, Entrance Gallery’s exhibition program will focus on cyclicality under the overarching concept of the cycle of life. Both within individual lives and within natural processes. Cyclical time offers a different perspective and values than the linear one we are used to in our culture and time, which is strongly oriented towards constant progress. We see a rethinking of perceptions of time and life priorities as an important mental step in the transformation to more sustainable and just forms of being in the world that take into account human dependence on nature and other beings.
The second part of the series will present a solo exhibition of the intermedia artist Veronika Šrek Bromová (1966), an established artist active on the Czech and international art scene since the 1990s. In 1999 Bromová represented the Czech Republic at the Biennale of Contemporary Art in Venice. At the core of her work are feminine themes, the body, gender, family, alternative family, nature, mythology, and in the last decade she has been developing her own ways of ritual – performance. She is inspired by the traditions of native peoples and cultures. For 12 years she has lived with her family on a farm called Chaos in eastern Bohemia, 180 km from Prague and 70 km from Brno. She strives to live in harmony with nature and organizes a program for the Kabinet Chaos Gallery, a professional art gallery and artists working with humanities and nature themes, which is a communication platform between the center and the periphery. She is a lecturer at the Anglo-American University in Prague, where he runs the Cross Media Art Studio.
For the summer exhibition at Entrance Gallery, Veronika is preparing works “About me, about you, and about a person, in the strawberry circle of the sky, where it warms and grows cold”.
The project was realized with the financial support of the Capital City of Prague.
The project was funded by the Municipal District of Prague 6.
