New Mexico artist, Larry Bob Phillips was invited to create a sight specific project for Entrance Gallery.
His color pencil drawings covered the inner walls of the gallery space.
Even author was drawing on most of the space, thanks to the light intensity of lines he created almost noteless interference to the whole interior.
Phillips puts the accent on subject as well as the drawing itself. Using color pencils he creates ornamental structures, reminiscent of a map contour lines. Figures and nature fragments are mixing, individual motives are emerging from one to another. The resulting chaotic picture is overhelming, giving us the illusion of space and uses complicated ways of narration.
